The Catskill Conservation Corp is a partnership between the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and theNew York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Conservation Corps invites outdoor enthusiasts of all ages to its event.
INTRODUCTION TO MAP & COMPASS
This free, one-day workshop
will introduce you to basic land navigation skills including blaze, map and
compass use. Participants will gain the ability to understand blazes and contour lines as well as understand triangulation and how to orient a map.
Demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on exercises will help you understand how to use these valuable tools to plan, and navigate your next adventure.
The workshop will be held rain or shine.
